Mythologies (Cubes and Monsters)

  • The In-Between Gallery (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

With this exhibition of oil paintings, San Diego artist Philip Petrie creates a mythological world that reflects the world we live in right now, a world threatened by authoritarianism and the environmental crisis but viewed here through a fantastical lens.  Populated by monsters (often us) and cubes (buildings, containers), it is a world in flux, full of ambivalence but also purpose.  The exhibition runs from November 6 to December 31 at the In-Between Gallery, 4184 Adams Ave, San Diego.  An opening will be held on Saturday, Nov. 9 from 5-8 PM.  Gallery hours are Wednesdays  2-5 PM and by appointment.  For more information contact Phil Petrie at petriep2@gmail.com.
